I strive for my pen-and-ink works to feel deeply nostalgic and whimsical, with fantasy elements. I have always loved antique paper, vintage valentines etc. I’ve built a wonderful collection of cards from that era, and they’ve heavily influenced my pen-and-ink work. I’m inspired by the detail and craftsmanship of early German cardmakers—especially of Raphael Tuck & Sons, Ltd. and Chloe Preston. I strive for my illustrations to carry that dreamlike quality and personality —to evoke something nostalgic, slightly odd, and full of wonder. I have been in the publishing industry since 1995.
